Orientation is always an advantage, also and especially in business life. There was a good reason for Mohn Media to give its customer conference the motto “The perfect timetable for innovative communication solutions” this year. At Bertelsmann Unter den Linden 1 in Berlin, everything was about the trends and topics of a modern customer approach for one day – and, naturally, about the services Mohn Media offers as a service provider. An informative program was presented to around 150 participants of the third Mohn Media Conference, mainly representatives from the e-commerce, retail and publishing and media sectors. The various contributions aimed to provide new approaches for examining existing business models. Application examples from the everyday lives of Mohn Media customers, who provide honest insights into successful customer communication measures, also contributed to this goal.
The Digital Mindset keynote speech of Dr. Florian Ilgen supplied all kinds of input. As Team Lead New Customer Marketing at Outfittery, Marc Knoll explained how the personal online clothing service for men wins and retains new customers. Norman Nielsen, Head of Content Marketing at Zalando, spoke about how marketing will become more personalized through the use of artificial intelligence, data analysis and voice-based services in the future. Andreas Reuter emphasized that print media will continue to play an important role in the marketing mix. However, the trend towards increasingly individualized products is obvious in this sector, as well, as the CEO of SSI Schäfer Shop emphasized.
“A very successful event”
In addition to the external speakers, colleagues from the Bertelsmann Printing Group rounded out the program and introduced specialized solutions for contemporary customer communications. Andreas Diebold of Mohn Media presented the “VIME” solution, which uses augmented reality to generate digital 360° views of products without the need to take pictures of them from all angles. Intelligent automation in direct marketing stood in the spotlight of the presentation given by Nik Bockmann, Head of Sales & Key Account Management at Campaign. He described how individual marketing messages can be played out automatically, efficiently and in a targeted way across several channels.
The event, which ran for several hours, offered the participants plenty of opportunity to meet and intensify existing contacts. “For us, the Mohn Media Conference was a very successful event where we were able to have both interesting conversations with existing as well as potential customers. We received unanimously positive feedback from all of the participants,” Dirk Kemmerer, Managing Director of Mohn Media and CEO Digital Marketing, Bertelsmann Printing Group, summed up the day.
